Today was a holiday in US (a remorable day that Human Rights were equally
given for African-Americans.) So, there was no school for Toshi.
But, he went to study Chinese with his classmates at the library.
In the afternoon, one of Toshi's classmates, Jeff came to our
apartment. He was a missionary in Hong Kong and came home 5 weeks ago.
We watched "Howl's Moving Castle" by Director, Hayao Miyazaki.
Our friend gace us 10 DVDs of Miyazaki films before we came to US,
and it was our second time to watch "Howl's Moving Castle" in US.
(It has been very useful! Thank you.)
Even in US, the Miyazaki films are quite popular, and we had a
movie party as Jeff's hoped.
Yukie watches "Totoro" with English voices for her study when free.
Yukie's English class will start from tomorrow (from 9am everyday for an hour)

By the way, today's picture was taken at the Commencement Ceremony of the
university (January 7th). Yukie attended that with the cap.
The 2 people wearing orange T-shirts welcomed new students like Toshi
as committees. (They have been married for 3 weeks.)
今日はアメリカの休日（黒人に人権が与えられた記念日）とのことで、
敏君は学校がお休みでした。
でも午前中は中国語のクラスメートと図書館で勉強しました。
午後はそのうちの一人、香港で宣教師をして
5週間前に帰ってきたばかりのジェフが遊びに来て、
宮崎駿監督のアニメ「ハウルの動く城」を見ました。
アメリカに来る前に宮崎映画のＤＶＤを１０作ほどいただいてきたのですが、
こっちで見るのは２回目です。（とっても役立ってます！ありがとうございます）
アメリカでも宮崎映画の人気はなかなかで、
今日もジェフ君のご希望により上映会となりました。
私も暇なときは、トトロを英語音声で見て勉強しています。
そして、私の英語クラスは明日からスタートです。（毎日９時から１時間）
がんばるぞ～！
ところで今日の写真は、入学式（１/７）に撮ったものです。
ちゃっかり私も帽子をかぶって参加しちゃいました。
一緒に写っているオレンジシャツの二人は、
新入生歓迎委員でした。（結婚して３週間だそうです）
